South Carolina's Kyle Kennard has emerged as one of the best pass rushers in college football, but it didn't happen overnight. A former 3-star recruit out of Riverwood High School, Kennard caught attention with his athleticism posting a 4.72-second 40-yard dash at the Opening Regional. He originally committed to Georgia Tech, developing over four season to a full time starter.

Kennard transferred to South Carolina for his final season proved to be a defining move in his career. He exploded onto the national stage last season winning the Bronk Nagurski Trophy, and finishing with 11.5 sacks, 15.5 tackles for a loss, and earning SEC Defensive Player of the Year.

Over his 54-game collegiate career with 32 starts, Kennard racked up 143 tackles, 37 tackles for loss, and 24 sacks. He also recorded 10 quarterback hurries, forced three fumbles, and recovered two.

Kennard also excelled in the classroom, earning First-Team Academic All-American honors.

As the No. 125 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft to the L.A. Chargers in the third round, Kennard is a proven EDGE defender who will bring big-game production and leadership qualities to the Chargers squad.
