Shane Beamer and company have added a powerful new weapon to their arsenal in the backfield. On Wednesday, former Colorado running back Isiaiah Augustave announced his commitment to the Gamecocks via the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound powerhouse led Colorado in rushing last season, piling up 394 yards on 85 carries and finding the endzone four times. Augustave brings both size and experience in the SEC, as he started his career at Arkansas. As a true freshman in 2023, Augustave played all 12 all games for the Razorbacks and totaled 202 yards and a touchdown on just 35 carries.

Originally from Naples, Florida Augustave committed to Virginia earlier this spring but reopened his recruitment in May after departing Boulder. Now he is headed to Columbia with a chance to make moves in the SEC once again.

Gamecock Central reported that Augustave's addition to the team is unrelated to the eligibility situation to surrounding Rahsul Faison, the Utah State transfer still waiting clearance from the NCAA. Whether Faison get the green light or not, Augustave will add a lot of valuable depth to a running back room that features Oscar Adaway, Jawarn Howell, Matthew Fuller, and Bradley Dunn.
