South Carolina Football brought the fireworks this Fourth of July with an X post that is lighting up Gamecock Twitter. The @GamecockFB account shared of a series of images wishing Gamecock Nation a Happy Fourth of July with firework behind a suited-up football player, but the patriotic theme didn't stop there. Included in the post was a perfectly executed modern recreation of the famous painting "Washington Crossing the Delaware," featuring Gamecock players in a whitewater raft instead of a Revolutionary War boat.

The top of the post featured the original painting, and below that was the hilarious Gamecock version with a group of players decked out in life vests, helmets, and boots. The guys were striking the exact same pose as the famous 1851 painting by Emanuel Leutze, with one Gamecock proudly holding a South Carolina Gamecocks flag in place of the colonial banner. The comparison was striking and quite fun to see; fans could not get enough.

The post from Gamecock Football was a perfect blend of humor, school pride, and American and Gamecock spirit. It wasn't just a celebration of Independence Day, it was a reminder that South Carolina football and the social media team simply does not miss when it comes to content.

From fireworks to the energy of the founding fathers, the Gamecocks made sure their post stood out in asea of generic holiday graphics from other college football programs. If "winning the internet" was a season stat, Shane Beamer's squad just racked up another W.
