Several former South Carolina players are finalizing their transfer destinations as the college football offseason continues, while others remain available in the portal as programs reshape their rosters ahead of the 2026 season.
Transfers With Confirmed Destinations
Among the most notable moves, former Gamecock offensive lineman Trovon Baugh has committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, according to On3 Sports. Baugh appeared in 35 games over three seasons with the South Carolina Gamecocks and started 11 games at right guard during the 2025 season. The 6-foot-3, 335-pound lineman earned All-SEC Freshman honors in 2023 before entering the transfer portal this offseason. His full academic accomplishments at the University of South Carolina include: 2024 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll, 2023 Freshman All-American (PFF), 2023 Freshman All-SEC, and 2023-24 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll
Former South Carolina tight end Michael Smith has transferred to the Syracuse Orange. Smith was a second-year tight end for the Gamecocks, making seven starts in 2024 despite not joining the team until the summer. Smith recorded 12 receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown over the past two seasons, appearing in 12 of 13 games as a true freshman in 2024. He was also on the 2024-25 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. Smith will have three years of eligibility remaining.
On the defensive side, former Gamecock defensive lineman Zavion Hardy has transferred to the South Florida Bulls. The JUCO transfer appeared in one game for South Carolina during the 2025 season, seeing action against Coastal Carolina.
