After spending a year in Athens, former Irmo star Precious Bross is coming back to where it all started, and Gamecock fans should be fired up! The Irmo High School standout announced her commitment to South Carolina softball on Monday during a visit with head coach Ashley Chastain-Woodard and her staff. Bross is a dynamic middle infielder who chose the Gamecocks over Duke after taking an official visit to both schools.
As a true freshman at Georgia, Bross played in 32 games, mostly as a pinch runner. She scored nine runs and swiped one base while making the most of limited opportunities.
Bross entered the transfer portal on June 10 and quickly became a top target for several programs, including South Carolina. She was ranked as a three-star prospect with an 87 rating by On3. Bross brings speed, strong leadership, and power to the Gamecocks. She has three years of eligibility left.
“I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to play in my hometown!” Bross shared. “The coaches, staff, and culture at Carolina are everything I could ever ask for. God has continued to bless me in ways I could have never imagined! I cannot wait for what’s next here in Columbia!”

Back home in Columbia, Bross will look to make a bigger impact on the field as well as off the field. Bross bring brains to the program as well. She was Irmo High School's Salutatorian, a three-time all-state selection, and batted .526 with five homeruns and 16 stolen bases in her senior year.
Bross is the seventh transfer to join the Gamecocks program in the offseason, as Chastain-Woodard builds up the roster after a historic softball season.
