Being inducted into your home state's hall of fame is a huge honor, regardless of where you played. For South Carolina, there will be one former Gamecock added to the 2025 South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

The class includes five inductees, who will be formally inducted during the state's 13th Annual Enshrinement Ceremony on April 16, 2026.

Here's a look at the class, headlined by a former Gamecock quarterback.

The class includes former South Carolina quarterback Todd Ellis, who played quarterback for the Gamecocks from 1986-89. During his first two seasons in Columbia, he led the SEC in passing yards, combining for 5,922 passing yards with 30 touchdowns and 42 interceptions. He finished his career throwing for 9,519 yards passing, while setting over 20 school records. He played three seasons for former South Carolina head coach Joe Morrison, playing his 1989 season for Sparky Woods.

Ellis was drafted in the ninth round of the 1990 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, but spent the season as a practice squad quarterback. He played one season for the Sacramento Surge, part of the World League of American Football in 1991.

He returned to South Carolina for law school, graduating in 1995. He is a licensed attorney in South Carolina and North Carolina, with a firm in Columbia, S.C. But his day job aside, Gamecock fans know Ellis primarily as the play-by-play announcer for USC football games. Coining the nickname "The Voice of the Gamecocks," he has called South Carolina games since 2003.

The other inductees include former Clemson and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jerry Butler, App State, Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams linebacker Dexter Coakley , South Carolna native and former Bengals receiver A.J. Green and former Packers defensive back Bob Jeter, who was born in South Carolina.

Congrats to Ellis and the rest of the inductees!
