Dear Santa, all we want for Christmas is LaNorris Sellers

From the South Carolina fanbase, written in good faith, garnet ink, and mild desperation.

Dear Santa,

We know it’s late, and Christmas is right around the corner. We know your inbox is full and hope this letter reaches you in time. And we know you’re probably still sorting through NIL collectives, transfer portal wishes, bowl game promises, and whatever chaos the month of December has decided to unleash this year.

But we have one request. Just one.

Please don’t let LaNorris Sellers leave South Carolina.

We promise we’ve been good...for the most part.

Sure, we complained during a 4–8 season. loudly and repeatedly, sometimes in all caps. Sure, we yelled into the void on social media, argued with strangers with default avatars. But we also showed up. We stayed loyal. We still wore garnet and black. We defended the future when the present got a little...well, let's just call it a character-building experience. But Santa, that future has a name...

LaNorris Sellers.

Santa, he’s the future (and you know it)

We’ve watched enough football to recognize the difference between potential and promise. Sellers isn’t a mirage. He’s the kind of quarterback you build around, not just for a season or two, but for an identity of a program. The kind whose name feels right at home in the tradition, like it was meant to be there.

And yes, Santa, we know patience isn’t exactly a popular trait in college football anymore, especially here in Columbia lately. But we promise to be good next year, because Sellers is worth waiting on. Worth protecting. Worth developing the right way.

Look, we got him help (this isn’t the same old story)

We know we've been bad, too. 4-8 is so bad. And we have heard the criticisms. We saw the breakdowns. We know the offensive line has to be better. We know the scheme has to evolve. That’s why next year feels different, and we promise to take care of him.

This time, South Carolina didn’t ask Sellers to figure it out alone. They didn’t hand him chaos and call it growth. They brought in experience, and structure, and a coordinator who knows how to protect quarterbacks and create those explosive plays.

And Santa, please ignore the portal whispers

We know other schools are circling. We know the NIL numbers are being waved around like shiny ornaments. We know promises are being stuffed in stocking hanging by the fireplace.

But Santa, we’re not asking for a miracle. We’re just asking for a little more time.

We’ll even leave cookies (and maybe a new O-line)

So, here's the deal: We’ll leave the cookies. We’ll leave the milk.
We’ll even stop doom-posting (until at least spring practice, ok?)

All we ask is this: Let LaNorris Sellers wake up on Christmas morning still a Gamecock.

Because some things are bigger than a season.
And some wishes are worth believing in.

Love and touchdowns,
Gamecock Nation
