Dawn Staley and company has added another elite player to her recruiting class for 2025. The No. 4 overall player and top-ranked combo guard Agot Makeer has committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks over UConn and Michigan State. Her decision to join South Carolina solidifies Coach Dawn Staley's vision of the success of the women's program.

Makeer is from Toronto, Canada and is South Carolina's second top 25 ranked incoming recruit, along with No. 22 Ayla McDowell from Texas. Makeer is currently attending Monteverde Academy in Florida.

Makeer played a pivotal role in leading the Canadian U17 women's basketball team to a silver medal at the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup in2024, averaging 17.7 point and seven rebounds per game.

Standing at 6-foot-2, Makeer is a double threat, playing both guard and small forward, which will give the Gamecocks an even more flexible ability for next season.

Makeer's stats for her 2023-24 season at Monteverde Acadamy:

Points: 17.7

Rebounds: 7.0

Assists: 2.3

Steals: 4.0

Blocks: 0.9

The successful recruitment of Agot Makeer for the Gamecocks' 2025 class reinforces South Carolina's status as one of the nation's most elite women's basketball teams.
