Forever to the CLA! The name Colonial Life Arena isn't going anywhere. The University of South Carolina and Colonial Life have officially renewed their naming rights sponsorship for the arena, extending the deal through the end of June 2027. The deal extension marks the continued partnership that has helped shape more than two decades of memories for Gamecock fans and the citizens of Columbia. It goes beyond championship games; it has impacted the community as a whole in the heart of Columbia.
The Colonial Life Arena first opened its doors in November of 2002 with a South Carolina women's basketball tip off, and it hasn't slowed down since. From Final Four celebrations and three national titles under head coach Dawn Staley to high-stakes men's games to concert headliners, fans of all ages and interests have packed the house year after year. The venue is far more than just a building, it is a cornerstone for Gamecock culture and community.
The support from Colonial Life is more than a namesake, as well, and reaches far beyond athletics. The company has invested in the University of South Carolina's academic mission by being involved with the Darla Moore School of Business, the College of Education, and initiatives such as the Classroom Catalyst Grant Program and CarolinaTIP.
“Colonial Life has been a tremendous partner of Gamecock Athletics for many years, and this extension as our naming rights sponsor reflects our continued collaboration,” said South Carolina Athletics Director Jeremiah Donati. “As a strong South Carolina-based company, Colonial Life shares our commitment to bringing high-quality athletic and entertainment events to Columbia and the Midlands. Together, our brands benefit from the many outstanding events we host—from basketball games to concerts,
The CLA has the largest seating capacity in South Carolina and has been a tradition of excellence and togetherness on and off the court. And as the Colonial Life Arena name stays, the venue will continue to be the center of Gamecock pride.
