Brady Hunt, a 6-foot-5, 253-pound tight end who transferred to the University of South Carolina from Ball State last offseason, has signed a new NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) agreement with the Gamecocks’ official collective, Garnet Trust. This deal ensures Hunt’s return to the program for the upcoming season.
In the 2024 season, Hunt was part of South Carolina’s three-man tight end rotation alongside Joshua Simon and Michael Smith. He contributed with two receptions for 22 yards, including a crucial first-down catch late in the victory over Missouri. Hunt’s versatility as both a blocker and a receiver was evident, and he is expected to take on a more prominent role in the upcoming season, especially with Simon exhausting his eligibility.
Prior to his time at South Carolina, Hunt had a standout 2022 season at Ball State, recording 46 receptions for 498 yards and five touchdowns. His performance at Ball State and subsequent transfer to South Carolina highlight his potential to make significant contributions to the Gamecocks’ offense in the future.
The signing of this NIL deal underscores the importance of player retention for South Carolina’s football program. Garnet Trust has been instrumental in facilitating such agreements, ensuring that key players like Hunt remain with the team. Head coach Shane Beamer has emphasized the value of building strong relationships with players and maintaining open communication to foster a positive team environment.
