With the 2025 NFL Draft set to begin this week, South Carolina is once again in the game. Among several Gamecocks hoping to hear their name called, standout defensive tackle TJ Sanders has emerged as a Day 2 prospect for the Buffalo Bills.
In ESPN's latest mock draft, analyst Jordan Reid projected Sanders to go 56th overall to Buffalo, emphasizing that the Bills may be interested in the Gamecock lineman.
“I believe the Bills will have Sanders high on their Day 2 board,” Reid wrote. “Quick wins are the name of his game, and the Bills could use him as an interior rusher and a stout run defender.”
Sanders had a strong 2024 campaign, recording 48 total tackles, 29 which were solo, seven tackles for a loss, four sacks, and a pass deflection. Over his three years at South Carolina, he notched 107 total tackles, including 18 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks in 38 games.
Standing at 6-foot-five and weighing 300 pounds, Sanders will offer a combination of size and explosiveness that could help the Buffalo Bills (or any team) with their defensive front. The Bills could definitely be an ideal landing spot for Sanders.
Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft begins at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 24 from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Day 2 of the Draft includes Round 2 and 3 and will take place on Friday.
