The WNBA has entered the second half of the 2026 regular season, and the action is heating up as the summer continues. The South Carolina Gamecocks have several former players on teams across the league, and Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream is one of the league's biggest stars.
In Atlanta's first game back from the All-Star break, Gray helped her team overcome a 15-point deficit, and scored five of her 25 points in the game's final seconds. Atlanta trailed 81-77 with 18.7 seconds left, when Dallas' Arike Ogunbowale was called for a Flagrant Grade 1 foul on Gray's three-point attempt shot.
Gray made all three of her free throws to make it 81-80. On Atlanta's inbounds pass, Gray caught the ball and laid up a basket to give the Dream an 82-81 lead with 15 seconds left.

“Coach drew it up, said go get the ball and go score, and that’s what I did,” Gray said after the game.
Although Dallas had shot attempts from Awak Kuier and Jessica Shepard, both missed, sealing a Dream victory. Gray's 25 points led the team, with her teammate Angel Reese adding 22.
“I feel like when my number was called, I was ready for the moment,” Gray added postgame.
It was the first game after the All-Star game for both teams. With the victory, Atlanta improves 17-10 on the season, sitting in second place in the Eastern Conference behind Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever. The Wings, meanwhile, drop to 18-10, and are 4.5 games back from the Minnesota Lynx. Next up for Atlanta is a home game against the Seattle Storm on Friday night, whereas Dallas goes on the road to face the Mystics on the same evening.
