South Carolina has a whole host of players playing in the NFL from coast to coast, and a total of seven of them were able to face off against each other yesterday. In the matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers, the game could have practically been called the Gamecock Bowl, with the majority of the players on the field having once played together in Columbia, South Carolina.

For the Cowboys, former Gamecocks running back Rico Dowdle, wide receiver Jalen Brooks, and defensive back Israel Mukuamu played in the game. For the Panthers, defensive back Jaycee Horn, EDGE Jadeveon Clowney, wide receiver Xavier Legette, and EDGE rusher DJ Wonnum took the field as former Gamecocks.

After the game, the former South Carolina players all got together for a jersey swap to honor their proud Alma Mater.

In a game where the Panthers were the favorite for the first time in over a year, the Cowboys came out and showed they are still a team that can show out on the football field. The Cowboys walked away with the 30-14 win, but truly, it was the South Carolina Gamecocks who won.

Since being named the lead back in Dallas, Dowdle had yet another strong showing for the Cowboys, running for over 100 yards for the third straight game. The fifth-year back finished the day with 149 rushing yards on 25 carries but did not find the end zone. The next highest rusher in the game was Chuba Hubbard with the Panthers, who had just 32 yards.

Cowboys' receiver Brooks only had one catch on the day, but it was certainly the biggest of his young career as he found the endzone for the first time ever in the NFL. For the Cowboys' defense, Mukuamu totaled two tackles but also an interception off the second-year quarterback Bryce Young for Carolina. The interception sealed the game for the Cowboys as it stopped an ensuing drive that could have brought the Panthers within one possession.

Panther's defensive back, Horn, was one that the Cowboys were seemingly worried about throughout the game as Rush continually did the opposite of Horn. Because of that, Horn did not have a strong stat sheet, but he did defend one pass as well and record a sack in the first quarter. Clowney and Wonnum both showed good things for the Panther defense as well, with six combined tackles and three passes defended.

For the rookie Legette, the former first-round draft pick had a tough day with just two catches after coming into the game with a wrist injury. The young pass catcher had become a big part of the Panther's offense with the departure of Diontae Johnson in the middle of the season when Carolina traded him to the Baltimore Ravens. however, this wrist injury has hindered his play of late.
