The Las Vegas Aces got a much-needed road win over the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday afternoon, ending a two-game losing streak for the reigning WNBA champions.

The Aces won 91-81 in a much-needed victory for Las Vegas, which had lost its last two games against the Los Angeles Sparks and Dallas Wings. Reigning WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson led the way for her team, leading the Aces offense with 28 points and another 15 rebounds and four assists and blocks apiece.

Golden State was led by Gabby Williams, who had 20 points on the night, and Janelle Salaun came off the bench and added 16 to the Valkyries scoring effort. Although Golden State had a 27-point fourth quarter, the Aces held on for the 10-point victory.

The victory gives the Aces a 5-3 record, with a rematch against the Sparks slated for June 3. While it is still quite early in the season, the Aces are still very much in the conversation of winning it all once again.

Also in the coversation to win the WNBA's MVP award for a third season in a row is Wilson, who is once again playing on another level this season. Earlier in the season against the Connecticut Sun, she put up 45 points, and continues to find ways to will her team to victory.

After the Aces face the Sparks, Las Vegas will once again play the Valkyries on Saturday, June 6.

With the road win, the Aces are now tied for third place overall in the league standings, tied with the Dallas Wings and Valkyries at 5-3 overall through the first month of the season.
