The Las Vegas aces and reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson are looking to get back on track during a huge road clash against the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday afternoon.
Although the Aces got off to a 4-2 start to the season and looked prime to repeat as league champions, they have hit some speed bumps in recent weeks. First, the Aces fell 101-95 to the Los Angeles Sparks last weekend, despite Wilson herself leading the team with 24 points and another 15 rebounds.
Then on Friday, the Aces lost on the road to the Dallas Wings 95-87, as rookie Azzi Fudd scored 22 points making her first WNBA start against Wilson and Las Vegas.
Now, the Aces continue their road trip, taking on the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday afternoon. The game is an opportunity for Wilson and her team to get back on track, and get a much-needed victory early in the season.
Golden State, led by Veronica Burton and Gabby Williams, are 5-2 on the year so far, and are in second place in the Western Conference, one game back from the Minnesota Lynx.
