A'ja Wilson and teammate Jackie Young make WNBA history with jaw-dropping stat

It's a good time to be former South Carolina Gamecock star A'ja Wilson. The reigning WNBA MVP from last season, and eight-time All-Star led the Aces to a huge 104-99 victory over the New York Liberty. 

Wilson, who has been in the league since 2018, led Las Vegas with 33 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal. Her performance helped the Aces get their first-ever victory over the red-hot New York Liberty this season, and it could be a preview of the WNBA Finals. 

Her Aces teammate, Jackie Young, added another 29 points in the victory, including nine assists. With both players' huge performances, the Aces' duo casually made WNBA history with the win. The two teammates became the first WNBA teammates to each score 25 points or more in the same game a total of 10 times: 

Not too shabby for the two, I'd say. Young has been with the Aces one season less than Young, joining Las Vegas in 2019. The former first-round draft pick played college basketball at Notre Dame, and has helped lead the Aces to three league titles in 2022, 2023 and 2025. She is a five-time All-Star, getting selected alongside her teammate earlier this month. 

The two teammates have been lighting up WNBA scoreboards this season. Just last week, Wilson and Young combined for 50 points during a victory over the new expansion team Toronto Tempo. The Aces' offense is currently third in the league in points per game, putting up 91.7 pre game. Las Vegas also leads the league in field goal percentage, shooting an average of 49.1% from the floor. 

With the two teammates heating up just as the second half of the WNBA season begins, the Aces are likely the favorites to make another deep playoff run. The next chance for Wilson and Young to make history is on Saturday, as the Aces will face the Chicago Sky on the road.
