NCAA staff writer Ericka Brockish talks about her prediction of who will make the College Football Playoff at the end of the season.

Week 8 in college football was not quite as exciting as it has been the past few weeks. There were no big upsets, just a few close calls for teams like Texas and Ohio State. The highest-ranked team to lose this week as they fell to the Texas A&M Aggies.

Ohio State was lucky to squeak past Nebraska this week as true freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola showed his youth in a big moment of the game, throwing a game-ending interception on what could have been the game-winning drive for the Cornhuskers. Texas was also able to hold off what is a newly invigorated Vanderbilt team behind quarterback Diego Pavia.

So after a calmer week of college football, here is my prediction of who will make the College Football Playoff at the end of the regular season.

There wasn't a lot of movement at the top as the Oregon Ducks were the first team in three weeks to survive the No. 1 rankings curse. The Ducks are hitting their stride at just the right time as they got through what was probably their two toughest games of the season with Ohio State and Illinois. The Big Ten is truly going to come down to the conference game and right now it could be either Oregon adn Ohio State.

Notre Dame was able to make a move up in the rankings with their dominant performance over Cinderella Story Navy. The Fighting Irish are finally looking like the team everyone thought they would, but with the softer schedule and the loss to Northern Illinois earlier in the season, Notre Dame has a short leash right now. and one more loss could knock them out of contention.

Indiana continues to make moves as they show their dominance over Washington with the hype of ESPN College Gameday in town. The Hoosiers do have their toughest test yet just a few weeks away when they face Ohio State, but with the way Curt Cignetti is leading his squad, it feels like anything is possible for this Indiana team.

The other team to make a move this week is Texas A&M as they are back in the rankings with a big win over a hot LSU team. The Aggies show that sometimes making a move mid-game can truly pay off and right now the Aggies are the only undefeated team in SEC play.
