South Carolina Football players who might not return in 2024:
The Veteran Transfer Defensive Linemen

Drew Tuazama (2023) and Terrell Dawkins (2022) transferred into the South Carolina football program the past two offseasons with plans to compete for starting jobs on the defensive line.

That’s not at all how things have played out for the defenders.

Dawkins has battled injuries his whole career, and that has been a major factor in his lack of playing time at Carolina. He will be eligible to transfer as a graduate this offseason, and that move might make sense for him if he wants to see the field more often.

Tuazama didn’t arrive in Columbia until August, but he has not worked out at either defensive end or defensive tackle so far. He has another year of eligibility remaining, and as a graduate, he could hit the transfer portal again if he is in search of a bigger role.

It seems extremely unlikely that both of these former transfers will be on the roster next season. Gamecock fans can expect that at least one of them will move on from the program after the year, whether by transfer or by not appealing for a final year of eligibility.
