SEC Football Quarterback Power Rankings:
No. 13 Vanderbilt’s AJ Swann

Many college football analysts were picking Vanderbilt to reach bowl eligibility in 2023. A good close to 2022 for young quarterback AJ Swann gave all seven of Vanderbilt’s fans hope for the future.

That hope is almost all gone at this point.

Swann has two very good receivers in Will Shepherd and Jayden McGowan (and London Humphreys has emerged as an explosive player, as well), but he still has completed just over 50% of his passes and leads the league with 7 interceptions.

Swann was banged up two weeks ago against Kentucky, and Ken Seals started against Missouri. Seals had a decent game, but he does not appear to have supplanted Swann as the starter. More will be known about the starting quarterback position over the next couple of weeks as Swann gets healthier.

Unfortunately for the ‘Dores, whether Swann or Seals is under center, there is no reason to suspect that Vandy will do anything other than finish 0-8 in the conference and complete yet another season as the SEC football bottomdwellers.
