South Carolina Football great Alshon Jeffery’s most ridiculous statistics:
A Dominant First Half in the Super Bowl

Alshon Jeffery joined the Philadelphia Eagles via free agency after the 2016 season. In his first year in Philly, Jeffery led the Eagles to a 13-3 record, an NFC East title, and a first-round bye in the NFC Playoffs. Jeffery’s squad made their way to Super Bowl LII where they took on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Despite dealing with an injured shoulder for much of the season, he did not miss a game and tallied almost 800 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns on the season. He saved some of his best work, though, for the Super Bowl.

In the first half of the game, Jeffery secured three passes for 73 yards and a touchdown as he seemed destined to be the game’s MVP. However, fellow Gamecock Stephon Gilmore was moved over to cover Jeffery for the Patriots, and his former college teammate was able to slow him down.

While Gilmore was able to stimy Alshon in the second half, the added attention left things open for quarterback Nick Foles to find the other Philadelphia pass catchers, and the Eagles went on to beat the Patriots 41-33.

Demonstrating just how injured he actually was during the 2017 season, Jeffery had shoulder surgery in the offseason.
