South Carolina Football great Alshon Jeffery’s most ridiculous statistics:
Becoming One of the NFL’s Best Players

After being selected in the 2nd round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Alshon Jeffery, unsurprisingly, didn’t take long to become a force in the NFL as he had 80 yards and a touchdown in his first game. Unfortunately, Jeffery battled injuries for most of the year and was only able to start six games.

Year 2 in the League, however, was a different story.

In 2013, Alshon Jeffery finished in the top-10 in the entire NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and yards per reception. His 1421 yards are the second-most ever for a Chicago Bears player, and despite just playing five seasons for Da Bears, he ranks 3rd all-time in receiving yards in franchise history and is top-10 in receptions and receiving touchdowns. He and Brandon Marshall became the second set of Chicago teammates to have 1000 yards each in the same season.

His 2014 season was elite, as well. He became one of nine Chicago Bears to ever catch double-digit touchdown passes in a season and one of six to ever put up multiple 1000-yard seasons. Only four Bears, including Jeffery, have ever had back-to-back seasons with 1000 yards.

Injuries began to slide Jeffery’s career off the rails a bit, but he still added four more years in a row with at least 52 catches and 789 yards.
