College GameDay was in Boulder, Colorado to check out Colorado-Colorado State and the hype surrounding “Coach Prime” Deion Sanders and the Buffalo. However, as the GameDay crew always does, they spent a good portion of the show talking about other games, as well, including South Carolina football’s contest against the two-time defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs.

When the crew got to talking about the Gamecocks’ chances against the Bulldogs, the panel’s rhetoric was about what one would expect: there was no confidence in Shane Beamer’s team to hang in there with UGA.

Host Rece Davis called the game “Georgia’s first real test” before correcting himself by saying that it might be “more like an open-book pop quiz” for the two-time defending national champion Bulldogs.

Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard, celebrity guest picker Duane “The Rock” Johnson, and Lee Corso all backed Davis’ sentiment by picking the Gamecocks to fall against the Bulldogs without much discussion.

McAfee added to Davis’ earlier disrespect for South Carolina football, specifically targeting the USC offensive line. The boisterous personality hyperbolically claimed that the ‘Dawgs might get “20-25 sacks” against the ‘Cocks on Saturday.

Even The Rock said that he believed Georgia would “win big.”

Howard seemed to have forgotten the schedule of games today saying he was excited for Georgia vs. Tennessee before getting it right later in the show.

Herbstreit, perhaps scorned by his pick of South Carolina football to beat the North Carolina Tar Heels in week 1, bluntly stated that “nobody in the world is picking South Carolina in this game” against Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs.

The rest of the College GameDay panel then nodded in agreement when Herbstreit added that the game could “get out of hand.”

Lee Corso also made his 400th headgear pick of all-time on Saturday. Corso donned the Buffalo head, siding with the Buffs in the Battle for Colorado.

South Carolina and Georgia will kick off at Sanford Stadium in Athens at 3:30 on CBS and the Paramount+ app.
