South Carolina Football vs. Furman:
The Injury Report

Injuries were still a storyline in South Carolina football’s matchup with Furman, but, thankfully, there were not nearly as many new instances of players getting hurt in this one.

  • Cason Henry, Nick Emmanwori, Jatius Geer, Markee Anderson, and
  • Juice Wells played and started at wide receiver even through his foot injury. Ahmarean Brown, Xavier Legette, and Nyck Harbor all played at receiver despite being somewhat banged up, as well.
  • Freshman starter Jalon Kilgore hurt his leg in the 2nd quarter while making a tackle. He returned before the quarter ended. Kilgore was in and out of the injury tent several times during the remainder of the 1st half.
  • Defensive back Keenan Nelson, Jr. was hit by linebacker Debo Williams when the two players were trying to make a tackle and was hurt in the 2nd quarter. He went to the locker room.
  • Wide receiver/punt returner Ahmarean Brown was carried off the field after a punt return before halftime. He was not bearing any weight on his leg. He went to the locker room on crutches.
  • Cornerback O’Donnell Fortune got banged up on a tackle early in the 2nd half but didn’t appear to be too hurt.
