SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 2:
No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (Preseason 1st)

The Georgia Bulldogs are the top Dawgs in the SEC until they are not. The two-time defending national champions are as talented as they have ever been. If new quarterback Carson Beck and new/old offensive coordinator Mike Bobo can keep things rolling on offense, the Bulldogs will be the favorite to win the title again.

The defense in Athens has had to replace NFL talent every offseason over the past few years, and every season, Kirby Smart’s team has responded with another elite defensive unit. With how well the Bulldogs have recruited in the last half decade, 2023 should be no different.

Serving as a picture of just how good Georgia can be in 2023, the fans of the red and black were furious after beating UT-Martin 48-7 in week 1. Only a November trip to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers seems like a potential tripping hazard for the ‘Dawgs, and 12-0 seems like a greater possibility than any losses on the Georgia ledger.
