South Carolina Football Report Card:
The Defense

D-. The Gamecock defensive line did not live up to expectations on Saturday. There was virtually no push in the run game and no pass rush the entire night. Most plays saw defensive linemen getting stood up at the line of scrimmage and/or getting blown off the ball.. . South Carolina Gamecocks. DEFENSIVE LINE

B+. South Carolina’s linebackers did about all they could do. Debo Williams and Stone Blanton played almost the whole game as Mo Kaba left with injury. They missed a few tackles, but they also combined for 24 stops, and Blanton was the pass rusher who forced a weak throw from Drake Maye that ended up as an interception by O’Donnell Fortune.. . South Carolina Gamecocks. LINEBACKERS

C-. The secondary was a mixed bag on Saturday. After losing Nick Emmanwori, Jalon Kilgore and DQ Smith tackled well, but every drive had coverage busts. Marcellas Dial had a pretty good coverage day, but it wasn’t enough.. . South Carolina Gamecocks. SECONDARY
