South Carolina Football: The Gamecocks are undefeated all-time against these teams

South Carolina Football is undefeated against these smaller programs
Akron: South Carolina is 1-0 against the Zips. The Gamecocks beat Akron in 2018 in a rain-soaked 28-3 contest at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Ball State: Ball State and Carolina have met one time. The Gamecocks beat the Cardinals 38-20, but, unfortunately, that win was the last for a while as USC went 0-21 following that victory in 1998.
Eastern Michigan: In just the third game after the Gamecocks went 1-21 in 1998 and 1999, South Carolina football matched up with Eastern Michigan and blew out the Eagles 41-6.
Louisiana-Lafayette: The Ragin’ Cajuns have one of the coolest nicknames in college football but not a win over the Gamecocks. Now known just as “Louisiana,” the former UL-Lafayette squad has lost two closer-than-they-should-have-been games against the Gamecocks 14-7 and 28-14.
Louisiana Tech: In the Sparky Woods era, the Gamecocks and Bulldogs tied in a pathetic 12-12 effort, but the Gamecocks have gone 5-0 since then, including one win over former Gamecock assistant coach Skip Holtz.
Kent State: In one of the highest-scoring South Carolina football victories of all-time, the Gamecocks knocked off the Golden Flashes 77-14 in 1995.
UMass: UMass joined the Division-1 FBS ranks not that long ago, and the Gamecocks have beaten them once. In Will Muschamp’s first year, Carolina beat the Minutemen in a sloppy 34-28 game.
New Mexico State: South Carolina has beaten New Mexico State both times the programs have matched up, but the first victory was the most memorable. After the horrendous 0-21 stretch in 1998 and 1999, the Gamecocks broke the losing streak with a 31-0 shutout of the Aggies.
Southern Miss: Carolina smacked around the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss to kick off the 2010 SEC East Championship season by a score of 41-13.
Tulsa: Tulsa and South Carolina haven’t played in almost 80 years, but the Gamecocks won the only meeting in 1948 in lopsided fashion, 27-7.
Ohio: In the 1970s, Paul Dietzel and Jim Carlen led two Gamecock squads against the University of Ohio. South Carolina football was victorious by a combined score of 62-29.
Western Michigan: Another directional Michigan school, the Western Michigan Broncos are also 0-1 against the Gamecocks, having lost to Jim Carlen’s squad in 1979.
