The South Carolina football program has played in three different conferences (the SEC, the ACC, and the Southern Conference) and also spent over two decades as an independent, so it feels like the Gamecocks have played almost every team in the country, especially in the eastern half of America.

Never a team afraid to have a tough schedule, Carolina has played against virtually every big program in the southeast, but the team has been willing to travel to play teams further away from Columbia, South Carolina, as well. Just in the ’70s and ’80s, the Gamecocks played against far-off programs like Southern Cal, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Kansas State, and Hawaii.

Still, even with the number of teams that South Carolina football has faced off against on the gridiron, there are a number of squads that have never been able to knock off the Gamecocks. The list is longer than one might expect.

Of the teams South Carolina football can claim to have an undefeated record against, most of them have only played the Gamecocks once or twice, but there are some programs that have the misfortune to own long histories of losing to the garnet and black squad from Columbia.

Which Division-1 college football teams have played South Carolina and never come out on the winning end of things?
