South Carolina Football: Ranking the most otherworldly Gamecock athletes

South Carolina Football’s Most Otherworldy Player of All-Time:
Defensive End Jadeveon Clowney
Jadeveon Clowney. No further explanation is actually needed.
The most-hyped high school recruit in the history of the recruiting era, Clowney was the best defensive end prospect of all-time, and he was an elite running back. He routinely put up double-digit tackle performances as a defensive lineman while also running for over 100 yards as a ball carrier. Just look at some of the highlights from the Rock Hill native’s senior season at South Pointe High School.
Clowney’s dominance translated to the next level as he was an impact player as a true freshman on a Gamecock team that went 11-2 in 2011. His freaky athleticism was made even more dangerous by his impossibly-good anticipation. Clowney seemingly had a sixth sense that allowed him to avoid cut blocks with impressive hurdles or split double teams with inside moves that didn’t seem real. He also shot off the ball faster than any player to ever play at Carolina.
Plus, he looks like an alien in the most intimidating way possible. Clowney’s body is one of the most impressive 260-pound physiques ever, and he wore long dreadlocks. His style of play, appearance, and horror-movie-villian-intimidation factor were reminiscent of The Predator. The only real difference between #7 and The Predator is that Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn’t have made Clowney bleed.
