South Carolina basketball has one player committed in the class of 2024. Finnish forward Okku Federiko (a high school teammate of current Gamecock guard Morris Ugusuk) committed in April.

A number of targets have been put up on Lamont Paris’ recruiting board, including multiple in-state products. 5-star wing Cam Scott and 4-star guards KJ Greene and Elijah Caldwell are all from South Carolina, and 4-star guard Bishop Boswell is from just over the border in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In recent weeks, another name has surfaced from a bit further away.

Trent Noah, a 6’5″ wing from the state of Kentucky, is heavily on the Gamecocks’ radar. On3’s Jamie Shaw spoke with Noah and reported that he will be taking an official visit to South Carolina at some point this fall and plans to make his commitment before his senior season begins.

Noah told Shaw that he is particularly interested in South Carolina basketball because of coach Lamont Paris and the Gamecock coaching staff.

Based on Noah’s visit schedule and offer list, he is believed to be deciding between South Carolina, Seton Hall, Stanford, Butler, St. Louis, Western Kentucky, Richmond, and Loyola-Chicago. He has already visited Richmond and Loyola-Chicago but plans to take visits to the other programs mentioned, as well.

As a player, Noah is a big-time shooter who put the ball in the basket from deep at over a 43% rate as a high school junior. His drive came has some teeth, especially when he is moving right. Noah’s shot-making translates to the mid-range, as well, where he can make shots off the bounce. He is also a decent athlete and can stay with opposing ball handlers on defense.

At 6’5″ and 200 pounds, Noah has enough strength to hold up on the defensive end of the floor and in the paint as a rebounder when necessary. If he can continue to get stronger in a college strength and conditioning program, he likely will unlock another level to his offensive game, as well.

Noah is the 2nd-ranked player in the state of Kentucky according to both On3 and 247Sports.
