South Carolina Football: Ranking the highest-paid NFL Gamecocks of all-time

South Carolina Football’s No. 10 NFL Career Earner:
Cornerback Sheldon Brown
Sheldon Brown might be the greatest corner to ever suit up for South Carolina football. Elite as both a coverage player and as a tackler, his game translated very well to the NFL where he was a Pro Bowl alternate who would have made the NFL’s version of an all-star game if another player had opted out with injury.
Because of his success at the professional level, Brown became one of the most beloved Eagles defenders in recent memory. The organization valued him well, too, and they proved as much with Brown’s contracts. Including a late-career deal with the Cleveland Browns, #24 racked up over $35 Million in salary during his decade-long career in the NFL.
One of the most remarkable things about Brown’s career earnings is that it could have been even more. Brown restructured his contract with the Eagles once to help the team sign more talent in free agency and restructured his contract with the Browns in a team-friendly way, as well. Without that, he would have brought in over $40 Million.
