SEC Media Days: The best of Steve Spurrier in front of a microphone

SEC Media Days are a chance for the league’s head coaches (and select players) to speak in front of the media. Most of the content at SEC Media Days becomes fodder for fans: offseason depth chart questions, updates on new players/coaches, and maybe even a little trash talk all make headlines and send SEC football fans into frenzies. Without a doubt the best to ever throw out a one-liner is former South Carolina and Florida head coach Steve Spurrier.
The Head Ball Coach was never afraid to say whatever it was that he wanted to say, and college football media was thankful for it.
If Spurrier wanted to take a jab at another coach or program, he would do it. If he wanted to make fun of a media member, the press had to brace themselves for potential impact. If the HBC decided he wanted to try to motivate his team through the press, he’d do that, too.
SEC Media Days was often the setting for Spurrier’s greatest quips.
