South Carolina Football’s No. 16 Greatest NFL Player of All-Time:
Wide Receiver/Kick Returner Robert Brooks

A converted running back from his high school days, Robert Brooks (1988-1991) followed Sterling Sharpe as big-time Gamecock receivers to graduate and play for the Green Bay Packers. The two players overlapped with the Packers for three seasons, but when Sharpe was forced to retire due to a neck injury, Brooks stepped up in a big way.

The future Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer had his best season in ’95 before leading his team to a Super Bowl win in ’97 and another appearance in ’98. Brooks was an accomplished receiver who was Brett Favre’s top target for several seasons, and he was a great returner who returned three kicks for scores in his career (2 kickoffs and 1 punt).
