South Carolina Football’s No. 7 Greatest Defensive Performance of All-Time:
Brad Edwards vs. Georgia

One of the leaders of the “Black Death” defense for the 1987 South Carolina football team, Brad Edwards earned All-American honors. His finest performance of the season came against the rival Georgia Bulldogs. In the hard-to-swallow 13-6 defeat, Edwards was a menace against the ‘Dawgs.

#27 racked up 21 tackles from the safety position that day, including one for a loss. He also picked off Wayne Johnson and set his team up for a score. Unfortunately, the Carolina offense couldn’t find the end zone and went on to lose by just one score.
