South Carolina Football’s No. 10 Greatest Defensive Performances of All-Time:
Pat Watson vs. Wake Forest

Pat Watson is criminally underrated in the greatest Gamecock defensive back of all-time discussions. He was a team captain and an All-ACC player at corner. He is also a record holder for South Carolina football as no one has ever intercepted more passes in one game than Pat Watson.

Against Wake Forest in 1968, #15 intercepted four passes from Demon Deacon quarterback Freddie Summers in a game Carolina won by two scores. All four interceptions were majorly impactful as they each either set up the Gamecocks for a short touchdown drive or allowed Carolina to flip the field position in their favor before the start of the next Demon Deacon drive.
