South Carolina Football’s No. 8 Greatest Offensive Performance of All-Time:
Ryan Brewer vs. Ohio State

As the Mr. Football award-winner for the state of Ohio, Ryan Brewer would have loved to play for his hometown Buckeyes, but Ohio State did not offer the local running back a scholarship out of high school. Instead, he ended up at the University of South Carolina and had a very solid, do-it-all type of career.

At the end of his sophomore season at Carolina, Brewer was granted the opportunity to show the Buckeyes just what they were missing. #21 had the best game of his career against his home state team in the Outback Bowl when he shredded the defense for 201 total yards and 3 touchdowns.

After the game ended (a 24-7 Gamecock beatdown), the victorious Gamecocks carried the game’s MVP off on their shoulders while Carolina and Ohio State fans alike gave him a standing ovation.
