On the unofficial college football recruiting calendar, the month of June is sometimes known as “official visit season.” The first weekend of this official visit season certainly lived up to the billing. A loaded recruiting weekend saw South Carolina football host numerous blue chip prospects.

One of the elite prospects that was in Columbia over the weekend was 4-star wide receiver Parker Livingstone. Livingstone is a 6’3″, 175-pound receiver who has a big enough frame to add some good weight when he arrives in a college strength and conditioning program.

After the weekend was over, Livingstone tweeted out his feelings about the South Carolina football program.

Calling South Carolina “different” is a big compliment in the modern recruiting world. Livingstone had positive things to say about wide receivers coach Justin Stepp and new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, a good sign as they are the two assistant coaches who would work most closely with a receiver like Livingstone.

South Carolina football quarterback commitment Dante Reno has been at the forefront of Livingstone’s recruitment for a while now, but fellow wide receiver (and 2024 Gamecock commitment) Mazeo Bennett has gotten into the recruiting game a bit, as well.

Bennett posted a picture with Livingstone and 4-star receiver target Keylen Adams imploring South Carolina football fans to “show ’em where home is.” Livingstone and Adams are two of the three biggest receiver targets on the Gamecocks’ recruiting board along with 4-star North Carolina native Jonathan Paylor.

With significant attrition coming at the receiver position after the 2023 season, the receiver room will need lots of new faces to fill the holes left by graduating seniors Ahmarean Brown, Xavier Legette, Eddie Lewis, and Dakereon Joyner and likely NFL Draft pick Juice Wells. Carolina is expected to take at least three receivers in the 2024 class and could add even more than that.

Livingstone has a final group that includes South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M.
