South Carolina Football’s Greatest Offense of All-Time:
2013
The 2013 Gamecock offense set team records for yards per game and total scoring. In all 13 games, South Carolina tallied over 300 yards of offense, and they notched over 500 yards four times. Connor Shaw had the best Gamecock quarterback season of all-time as he logged over 3000 yards of offense with 31 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Mike Davis did an admirable job filling in for the departed Marcus Lattimore with 1500 yards from scrimmage.
The receiving corps was a solid group effort with its biggest moments coming from converted basketball player Bruce Ellington. The season’s three highlights were a Capital One Citrus Bowl victory over Wisconsin to end the year, a fifth-straight win over Clemson, and a wild, come-from-behind win over Missouri led by the heroic Connor Shaw’s hobbling second half brilliance off the bench. The dominant Carolina defenses from 2011 and 2012 faded away, but the 2013 offense picked up the slack to help the Gamecocks win 11 games for the third-straight season.
