South Carolina Football’s Most Impressive 2023 Spring Performers:
Defensive Lineman TJ Sanders

South Carolina football needs some players to step up on the defensive line this season. Starting defensive tackle Zacch Pickens just went in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and two of the team’s top defensive ends transferred in Jordan Burch and Gilber Edmond. Athletic defensive tackle TJ Sanders has shown himself to be up to the task of filling the holes. This spring, Sanders was chosen as the Rex Enright Defensive Player of the Spring award winner and has a clear role in the two-deep (potentially as a starter).

Sanders has also been slid outside to defensive end some this offseason, a role he and fellow athletic defensive tackles Tonka Hemingway and Elijah Davis could play at times with the Gamecocks thin at end.
