South Carolina Football’s Most Impressive 2023 Spring Performers:
Defensive Tackle Alex “Boogie” Huntley

Boogie Huntley has flashed at times during his South Carolina career but has also battled some nagging injuries that have kept him from long stretches of consistent playing time. Seemingly healthy this spring, Huntley had a productive offseason. He was named by (now former) defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey as one of his unit’s top offseason performers, and he got tons of starting reps with Tonka Hemingway out for the spring after offseason surgery.

Huntley was rewarded for his offseason success with the Defensive South Carolina Spirit award as the defense’s best teammate and hardest worker. He also had several nice moments in the 2023 Garnet and Black Spring Game. He likely will be in the two-deep at defensive tackle when the season begins, potentially as a starter.
