South Carolina Football’s Most Impressive 2023 Spring Performers:
Tight Ends Trey Knox and Joshua Simon

After the Gator Bowl, the South Carolina football program officially had zero scholarship tight ends. Jaheim Bell and Austin Stogner transferred, Nate Adkins graduated, and Tre Kenion retired. Coach Beamer’s staff flipped the room in a hurry through the transfer portal, and Arkansas transfer Trey Knox and Western Kentucky defection Joshua Simon were the biggest gets at the position.

Knox has been an absolute monster ever since he stepped on campus and looks to be the starter at tight end. His size at 6’5″, 250 pounds and his receiving ability make him a balanced player at the position. Simon has shown himself to be a very good receiving threat at the position and will likely get most of his work lined up off the ball as a receiving tight end. Simon also was one of two winners of the Offensive Gamecock Toughness award this spring.
