South Carolina Football’s Most Impressive 2023 Spring Performers:
WR Xavier Legette

One of the fastest players on the team is wide receiver Xavier Legette. Legette had not done much in his career until the mid-point of the 2022 season when he scored a 100-yard touchdown on a kickoff return against Texas A&M. The score seemed to give the talented athlete some needed confidence as he had multiple catches in four of his next five contests, including a two-touchdown performance against Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl.

The offseason saw Legette continue his confident progression, and he seems poised to take on a bigger role in his redshirt senior season. A common name heard when discussing the question, “Who has had a good spring?,” #17 appears to have corrected some of the drop issues he had earlier in his career. Legette will also probably take on some of the wide receiver rushing load left behind by Jalen Brooks and Josh Vann heading to the NFL and DK Joyner moving to running back.
