South Carolina Football’s No. 7 NFL Draft Success:
TE Jared Cook

A matchup nightmare from 2006-2008 in the SEC for the Gamecocks, Jared Cook (Round 3, Pick 89, 2009 NFL Draft; Tennessee Titans) continued his assault on opposing secondaries as a professional. Over the course of his 13-year NFL career, Cook went for over 500 yards receiving 9 times and made two Pro Bowls.

Cook also developed a reputation as a top postseason performer late in his career, with his best showing coming with almost 250 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an incredibly clutch 1st-down conversion in 3 postseason games with the Green Bay Packers during the 2016 postseason. Cook’s career is easily the best tight end career of any NFL Gamecock, and he performed much better than most third-round picks ever dream of performing as he finished his career 13th in all-time tight end receiving yardage and 11th in all-time tight end receiving touchdowns.
