South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer tweeted out a #WelcomeHome on Tuesday evening that sent Gamecock nation into a frenzy. In his tweet, Coach Beamer credited the atmosphere during Saturday’s Garnet and Black Spring Game for playing a role in the commitment.

Based on other Twitter activity, it was revealed that the commitment would likely be someone big, as quarterback commitment Dante Reno claimed the silent pledge would make the 2024 class β€œbigger.”

Coupled with an announcement from Charles Herbert Flowers High School 3-star offensive tackle Mike Williams, fans began to speculate that the big man was the silent commit.

A couple of hours later, Beamer dropped a second #WelcomeHome, and the fans who were still awake got hyped up once more.

The tea leaves were not quite so predictive for the second pledge of the night, but once again, Dante Reno gave a little bit of insight as to the potential identity of the #WelcomeHome.

The Gamecocks are in on numerous defensive prospects in the 2024 recruiting class.

#1-overall recruit Dylan Stewart is unlikely to be the guy here as his recruitment probably still has a ways to go, but the dynamic EDGE has reaa l interest in the Gamecocks.

4-star defensive backs Braydon Lee (also from Charles Herbert Flowers) from Maryland and in-state Kelvin Hunter fit the profile of a player who might be ready to commit. 4-star EDGE KingJoseph Edwards seems to really like the Gamecocks, as well.

Kam Mikell (who could also play wide receiver) from Georgia and a slew of other defensive prospects are being pursued pretty heavily by the Gamecocks, too.

While the identity of the first commitment from Tuesday could be revealed (or at least become more clear) as early as Wednesday, the second might take a little more time.

South Carolina football fans should remain excited as they wait. From the sound of things, by the time the name comes to light, #WelcomeHome could be hitting Beamer’s timeline a few more times.
