The South Carolina Athletics Department held its annual Gamecock Gala last night, and awards and superlatives were presented, including two for Aliyah Boston. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports /

On Monday night, the University of South Carolina Athletic Department put on its annual Gamecock Gala. Athletes from all over the athletic department got together to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of some of the best in college athletics.

Here is a list of the awards given out at last night’s gala:

New Student-Athlete Award: Jenna Hampton, Volleyball

Female Freshman of the Year Award: Raven Johnson, Women’s Basketball

Male Freshman of the Year Award: Nick Emmanwori, Football; Ethan Petry, Baseball

Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award: Louise Rydqvist, Women’s Golf

Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award: Filip Demsar, Men’s Track and Field

Dodie Academic MVP Award: Lele Johnson, Women’s Track and Field

Team Community Impact Award: Equestrian Team

Gamecock Leadership Award: Kieley Gayle, Women’s Track and Field

Gamecock Inspiration Award: Junior Saint Juste, Men’s Soccer

Female Athlete of the Year: Aliyah Boston, Women’s Basketball

Male Athlete of the Year: Toby Samuel, Men’s Tennis

University of South Carolina President’s Award: Aliyah Boston, Women’s Basketball

2023 University of South Carolina Nominees for the SEC’s Brad E. Davis Outstanding Community Service Scholarship: Jordan Allen, Equestrian; Wesley Sweatt, Baseball

2023 University of South Carolina Nominees for the SEC’s McWhorter Academic Scholarship: Trinity Hammershcmidt, Equestrian; Filip Demsar, Men’s Track and Field

The Gala also saw the attendees have a little fun as a set of Athletic Department superlatives were also given out:

Most Athletic Couple: Kai Kroeger, Football; Riley Whitesides, Volleyball

Best Game Face: Molly Joseph, Women’s Cross Country

Most Likely to be on a Relative TV Show: Spencer Rattler, Football

Most Likely to Come Back and Coach at USC: Jordan Fabian, Softball

Most Likely to be President: Hanna Barton, Women’s Swimming

Class Clown: Vershon Lee, Football

Grandma Award: Hailey Cabeceiras, Beach Volleyball

Grandpa Award: Hayden Brown, Men’s Basketball
