Bo Davies (1969-1971) was one of the best pass coverage safeties to play at South Carolina. His 14 career interceptions are tied for the most in school history, and his 8 picks as a junior led the ACC. After being recruited as a quarterback, he switched over to the defensive side of the football and became an important member of South Carolina’s only conference championship in 1969 when Carolina won the ACC.
After an All-ACC Gamecock career, he was drafted in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft. Davies is also the father-in-law of South Carolina baseball catching legend Landon Powell, and both Davies and Powell are members of the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame.
