South Carolina Football’s Greatest Linebacker of All-Time:
Skai Moore

The most complete linebacker in South Carolina Gamecock history, Skai Moore (2013-2017) could do it all. The only player to ever lead the Gamecocks in tackles for four seasons, Moore is also tied for the all-time lead in Gamecock defensive interceptions. #10 was truly an amazing player who covered a lot of ground on South Carolina defenses that rank among the best ever in school history.

Moore’s junior season is one of the best linebacker seasons in SEC history, as the 220-pounder tallied 111 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 4 interceptions, 4 pass breakups, a forced fumble, and 3 fumble recoveries. What made that year even more impressive is that he was operating as part of a defense that had an awful defensive line, meaning he did much of this on his own as he didn’t have much help in getting free to make tackles. Moore received postseason honors after all four of his active seasons (he missed 2016 with a neck injury). In 2013, he was a Freshman All-American, and in 2014-2015 and 2017, he was named an All-SEC performer.
