South Carolina Football’s No. 7 Linebacker of All-Time:
Garry Mott

A multi-talented linebacker, Garry Mott (1972-1975) does not have many of his stats available due to the era in which he played. What is known, though, is that his 167 tackles as a sophomore were a program record for ten years until Mike Durrah broke it with 179 stops a decade later. Mott was known for his ability to run sideline to sideline to make plays, and the team captain was an All-ACC selection. Mott was a tackling machine for his career and filled the void left by the departures of Tim Bice and Rick Brown.
