No. 2: South Carolina football Head Coach Shane Beamer has no love lost for a couple of SEC coaches

In an interview with Barstool Sports’ “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast, Shane Beamer was asked which SEC coaches he wanted to fight. Instead of playing it safe and avoiding the question, Beamer, without naming any names, admitted there are some coaches in the league with whom he’d like some alone time.

Gamecock fans have speculated that Kentucky’s Mark Stoops could be one of these coaches as his passive-aggressive comments about “stupid sunglasses” and dancing didn’t sit well with Beamer or his team. Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz does not appear to be well-liked around the league and may have caught Coach Beamer’s ire due to his arrogance and the Gamecocks’ baffling lack of success against the Tigers in recent years. Billy Napier of Florida recently tried poaching Wide Receivers Coach Justin Stepp from Carolina, as well.

No matter who Beamer was thinking of when he answered the question, the Gamecocks’ head man has stirred up quite the talking point during spring practice.
