South Carolina’s No. 3 Defensive Tackle of All-Time:
Langston Moore
Langston Moore (1999-2002) came to the University of South Carolina as an interior offensive lineman. He quickly moved to the other side of the football, and the Gamecocks were better because of it. Moore became a contributor as a sophomore when he logged eight tackles for loss as part of a stingy defense in 2000. He only got better over his final two seasons in Columbia, but Moore’s senior year was special.
Playing nose tackle, Moore was an All-American in 2002 as he had an impressive 60 tackles from the middle, nine tackles for loss, an interception, and three forced fumbles. After graduating, he spent a decade in the NFL and came back to be the sideline reporter during Carolina football games. He and former teammate Preston Thorne have also been big proponents of childhood literacy, writing a book series called “Just a Chicken.”
