With rain hitting Athens, Georgia on Friday, the South Carolina baseball team was unable to play the opening game of their series with Georgia. Like last week against Bethune-Cookman, weather issues led to a Saturday doubleheader. The University of South Carolina announced that the doubleheader would take place on Saturday, and the first game would begin at 2:00. There is not expected to be any further bad weather this weekend in Athens.

The Saturday contests are set to both be full nine-inning games and will be shown on the SECNetwork+ and the ESPN App. The Sunday game is unchanged and still set to begin at 3:00 on the SECNetwork and the ESPN App. For any Gamecock fans who traveled to Athens, tickets for Friday’s game 1 will only be honored for the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader as Saturday’s tickets will only be accepted for the first contest at 2:00. Foley Field will be cleared between the two matchups.

There will be a 1-hour break between the two games of Saturday’s doubleheader. Based on how Head Coach Mark Kingston and Pitching Coach Justin Parker handled last weekend’s series, the Gamecocks are still expected to start Will Sanders in the first contest and Noah Hall in the second.

The weekend series is the first SEC series for both South Carolina and Georgia.
